Ten plagues · Main route

Rusty Lake Paradise Walkthrough

Complete each plague, retrieve its black cube, and return it to the temple well before starting the next chapter.

Plagues 1–5

Blood, Frogs, Gnats & Lice, Flies, Livestock

  1. 1 · Water Turns Into Blood: take the machete and hook, cut the gate vines, give the family the water vessel, then use the pump and cups to route the blood into the jar.
  2. Match the leech lengths to the gate marks, use the resulting key, drain the final blood vessel and click the first black cube.
  3. Carry that cube to the temple mechanism, lower it into the well and click the glowing memory.
  4. 2 · Frogs: collect four frogs—shore, well, garden and house—using the lily-pad jumping puzzle for the last one.
  5. Put all four frogs in the cauldron, add wood, light it and fill the bowl with soup; give it to Gerard, recover the key from his vomit and open the chest.
  6. Take the black cube from the chest and process it at the temple well.
  7. 3 · Gnats & Lice: take flyswatter, axe, snail and scissors; cut the stump until the symbol appears, give Margaret the swatter and collect the gnats.
  8. Cut the family members’ hair/beards as the portrait requires, feed every collected parasite to the giant larva, then place the two vases on the pedestals.
  9. Click the portrait gnats, take the black cube and process it at the temple.
  10. 4 · Flies: free mosquito David, take wood/candle/shovel, solve the crate’s aligned symbols and dig up the carrot.
  11. Use the carrot to expose the rabbit for David; collect heart, worm and crab meat, trap the sandpiper for its organ, then feed all three organs to the wooden owl for the diamond.
  12. Open the tower, read the symbol-number book, let David attack Nicholas, take the cube and process it at the temple.
  13. 5 · Diseased Livestock: take lettuce, bucket and knife; solve the cow spots by matching color or shape, cut the marked spot for beef and milk the cow.
  14. Churn the milk for cheese; obtain boar meat and tomatoes, then assemble the displayed Rusty Lake Burger—lettuce, cheese, beef, tomato and boar meat.
  15. Feed the burger, recover the cube from the final animal sequence and process it at the temple.

Plagues 6–10

Boils, Hail, Locusts, Darkness, Death

  1. 6 · Boils: collect plague staff, key, matches, needle/thread and six bodily-fluid samples; read the staff directions.
  2. Mix snot, tears, saliva, snot, tears, blood; pop Gerard’s boils by following each adjacent color arrow, cut out the heart, prop his eyes and give the medicine.
  3. Match his teeth, set the clock to 5:40, swap in the heart, sew him up, open the clock box with BOAR, then process the cube.
  4. 7 · Hail: collect every snow-globe part, repair the globe and use it on each marked island target.
  5. Strike the temple seven times, inspect the exposed tall rock for the plague symbol, then open the red box with the recovered key.
  6. Take its black cube and process it at the temple well.
  7. 8 · Locusts: solve the locust rhythm, follow and feed the mantis, collect the goat eyes and give them to Elizabeth.
  8. Read both eye visions, dig by the goat, follow the owl for the dropped key, open the buried box and give Margaret the mist horn.
  9. Blow the horn until her boat leaves, take the cube from the boat and process it.
  10. 9 · Darkness: reproduce each moon phase with the table handles, collect bronze key, then gather bark, moss, shell, blue stone and red moon stone.
  11. Grind the five items; burn the colored powders and use their shapes on the zodiac clock for the silver key. Use family animal poses and tower shadows for the copper key, then telescope constellations for the gold key.
  12. Unlock the upper room, guide the owl with bonfires, grind Mother’s bones into powder, burn it, take the cube and process it.
  13. 10 · Death of the Firstborn: light torches 1–5, win Nicholas’s drum/bone puzzle, combine bone and feather into an arrow, shoot David four times, then shoot the apple to obtain a worm.
  14. Paint Elizabeth green, white, red, white, green; feed the worm to the chicken, fry the egg into a chick, feed the owl and arrange its bones to spell OWLS.
  15. Light torches 6–9, set the well letters to O=4, W=5, L=10, descend and spell OWLS; solve the five animal statues and take their masks.
  16. Complete the owl image, place the ten collected symbol numbers on the panel, take the owl mask, give the five guest masks to the family and put the owl mask on the corrupted soul to finish.
